We have an opening for a full time MAINTENANCE DIRECTOR in our compassionate, faith based, non-profit assisted living community in Grand Junction. Our Maintenance Director assures building, equipment, and grounds meet quality standards that provide optimal safety, service, and cleanliness to residents, visitors, and staff. Directly supervises housekeepers and maintenance assistant. Moderate physical activity required by handling objects up to 50 pounds occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds frequently. Must be able to bend, stoop and handle bulky items.

Job Duties:

    Assures residents’ comfort by responding to work orders in a positive, timely manner.
    Maintains consistent, accurate logs of safety equipment including fire alarms, fire extinguishers, and emergency response system.
    Monitors electrical systems, mechanical systems, HVAC, plumbing systems, sprinkler systems, smoke alarms, and emergency lights to assure safe working order. Repairs or replaces as needed.
    Paints rooms and touch-ups as needed.
    Maintains an inventory of housekeeping and maintenance supplies in accordance with community’s policies. Places orders as needed.
    Inspects rooms and common areas on a weekly basis to assure safety and cleanliness. Logs items that need repair or replacement and completes work in a timely manner according to community’s policies and procedures.
    Maintains grounds that reflect an open, welcoming impression to individuals passing by and entering the building.
    Schedules and assigns housekeepers and maintenance assistant, following community’s policies and procedures.

Job Requirements:

    Prior experience as a Maintenance Director preferably in a geriatric environment.
    Knowledge of local, state, and federal regulatory systems for safety and facilities management.
    Must be knowledgeable in HVAC, plumbing, major and minor repairs, painting and general maintenance.
    Ability to make minor and major repairs and paint.
    Interpersonal skills to communicate with residents and staff.
    Knowledge of use of hand tools, tractors, lawn equipment, carpet cleaners and other housekeeping and maintenance equipment.
