Grand Valley Drainage District, Grand Junction Colorado, is hiring a field laborer position; Job duties include but are not limited to; grate cleaning, cutting and chipping trees and brush, mowing right of ways, laying pipe and ground work support for heavy equipment. The ability to work as a team member around heavy equipment in a safe and professional manner is essential. The ability to fill out accurate daily work reports and communication with office staff and other field team members is essential.
Qualifications: Experience with and the ability to operate hand tools including hooking fork, chain saw and sharp cutting tools, the ability to safely operate a tree chipper, the ability to safely operate tractor driven mowing equipment and small earth moving equipment.
Education, licenses and testing: The candidate will show proof of a High School Diploma or equivalent, Colorado Drivers License with acceptable driving record. The successful candidate is subject to pre-employment and subsequent random drug testing.
