Crossroads Academy Preschool is seeking qualified candidates for our Preschool Lead Teacher position. This is a part-time position. Hours are Monday-Friday 8-12:30.

 

Crossroads Academy Preschool and Pre-Kindergarten Teachers must share a passion for children and a passion for education. Some of the responsibilities as a preschool / prekindergarten teacher include the following. Teachers provide an structured academic setting to ensure students are at the kindergarten readiness level when leaving the program. Teachers plan and implement activities that promote the Spiritual, social, physical, and intellectual growth of all children. Responsible for the care, hygiene, learning, developmental activities, and specialized programs. Communicates directly with parents regarding their child's accomplishments, academic progress and daily activities. Maintains classroom records, cleanliness, and orderliness. Looking for teachers with flexibility in their schedules and the vision to see the ministry of Christ-based Preschool learning.

Our preschool teachers work with children ranging in age from 3-5 years old.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

• Responsible for the safety of all children in the group
• Working knowledge of early care and education
• Demonstrated skill in early childhood curriculum and implementation
• Maintains a structured academic learning environment
• Actively engaged with the children at all times
• Ability to provide a loving and nurturing environment for all children
• Follow lesson plans as outlined by Director
• Develop opportunities to positively impact children's self-esteem
• Ensure that classroom is in compliance with all relevant regulations and standards
• Serve as a role model to the children in the group through appearance and actions
• Maintain an environment (both indoors and outdoors) that is safe, clean, and inviting.

EDUCATION / KNOWLEDGE / EXPERIENCE
 Associates Degree in Early Childhood Education and/or CDA preferred.
 Bachelor's Degree in Education and/or teaching certificate is highly desired.
 Must meet or exceed state licensing requirements for age, education, and experience
 2+ years of early childhood education experience desirable
 1+ years of experience working with preschool and/or prekindergarten age students

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
* Excellent organizational skills required
* Ability to be flexible in assignment and work hours required
* CPR and First Aid Certification or willingness to obtain desirable
* Excellent verbal, listening, and written communication skills required
