Field Technician III

This position is located in the Grand Junction, CO, office and will require up to 70% travel to remote locations throughout the United States.
Responsibilities:
Under minimal supervision, provides mechanical and operational expertise to a facility/site location to ensure full functionality of equipment and infrastructure; provides on-site technical assistance to help troubleshoot and repair equipment and site infrastructure.
Occasionally operates heavy equipment, such as backhoes, loaders, road graders, and skidsteers, to perform maintenance on or build new site features, such as roads, stock ponds, culverts, water lines, and well pads; drives a dump truck and ATV.
Identifies or can learn to identify noxious weed species; assists a licensed pesticide applicator in treating weed infestations with herbicide; operates a backpack sprayer and an ATV-mounted motorized sprayer.
Operates a chainsaw safely.
Operates or can learn to operate a hand-held GPS unit.
Operates or can learn to operate utility location equipment.
Prepares field activity reports and project-related safety and health documents, and maintains records of equipment performance.
Builds and repairs barbed-wire fences; installs gates.
Analyzes inspection findings to determine source of problem, and recommends repair, replacement, or other corrective action.
Oversees and directs the execution of engineered construction projects.
Ensures adherence to safety standards and environmental regulations.
Makes recommendations for changes to construction projects based on field conditions.
Prepares construction and operations procedures.
Specifies equipment and project resources.
Records changes and modifications to drawings and specifications.

Requirements:
Minimum Requirements:
Position requires a high school diploma, or equivalent, and at least 8 years of experience; or,
an Associate Degree in a technical or vocation field plus 6 years of experience; or, a combination of education and experience that is equivalent to the stated requirements.   
Employee must possess a valid state driver’s license and must possess or be able to obtain a commercial driver’s license
