Fleet Specialist - Grand Junction, CO

POSITION TITLE: Fleet Specialist
DEPARTMENT: Airport
FLSA STATUS: Part-Time / Non-Exempt
SALARY RANGE: $15.38 – $24.04 / hourly
PURPOSE OF POSITION:
Responsible for the timely completion of maintenance and repair of all Airport vehicles and equipment.
Responsible for emergency response to all aircraft rescue fire emergencies, upon notification.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
- Perform work on all vehicle and equipment.
- Performs the repair, maintenance, and renovation of equipment and vehicles owned by the Airport.
- Assist in invoice payment and record keeping activities related to the fleet maintenance.
- Operate in a competent, safe manner a variety of vehicles and equipment required to perform duties.
- Consults with management regarding vendors, and subordinates regarding major fleet equipment related problems and needs.
- Operates wide variety of manual, power and electronic tools to perform duties.
- Work for extended periods in adverse weather conditions.
- Responds to emergency call-outs including; aircraft emergencies, snow removal, security.
- Perform snow removal duties as required on all airport surfaces.
Aircraft Rescue Firefighting:
- Responds to aircraft emergencies upon notification.
- Performs firefighting activities including driving fire apparatus, operating pumps and related equipment, laying hose, fire suppression, passenger safety and egress, rendering emergency aid.
- Carries pager and cell phone.
Other:
- Performing all other work as assigned.
- May assist in other airport departments

JOB QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:
Mandatory Requirements:
Education and experience equivalent to a high school diploma or GED, with a minimum two (2) years specialized training in mechanics, maintenance management, or a closely related field, and Supervisory experience and/or training; or any equivalent combination of education and experience required to perform the described duties.
Background Check: Employment with the Airport is contingent upon an education/experience background investigation, a fingerprint-based criminal history record check processed by the FBI, and upon the ability to be granted a security badge as mandated by the Transportation Security Administration.
