Pipeline Maintenance Worker - Grand Junction, CO
Under general supervision; works as a member of the pipeline maintenance crew.
Reads meters; ensures that meters are registering properly; provides water utility customer service; performs minor maintenance on water meters; tactfully responds to citizen inquiries and complaints; excavates, inspects, flushes, cleans and repairs water and wastewater mains; repairs and replaces manholes, fire hydrants, valves, meters and backflow prevention devices; operates heavy construction equipment; installs, maintains, repairs and tests water and sewer mains, service lines, hydrants, meter pits, irrigation and other mechanical systems; locates water and sewer mains and other utilities; installs, repairs, and replaces valves, pumps, manholes and associated structures; installs, tests, and maintains commercial and residential water meters according to standards; reads meters and tabulates water consumption data; reads and updates water distribution system records, maps and plans; tests water pressure and volume; disinfects and flushes mains and service lines; collects and transports water samples; excavates and removes asphalt and spoils; evaluates trench conditions; restores landscaping; participates in the maintenance and service of the City's watershed; performs related duties as assigned.
