Scope:

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Initiates electronic transfer of signed off charts from the electronic health record into practice management.
- Reviews and audits diagnosis codes using the appropriate classification systems, standards and procedures.
- Reviews and audits procedural notes and billing to ensure documentation supports the assigned code.
- Confers with physicians and clinical assistants and other staff to assure complete, current and accurate medical records.
- Confers with business office staff on coding denials.
Assists with compiling appropriate coding edits in editing database.
- Completes other tasks and duties as assigned.
Requirements and Qualifications:
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Certified Professional Coder (CPC) accreditation required.
- Two years previous medical coding / billing experience required.
- Inpatient, outpatient, and profee knowledge of CPT codes required.

Summary:

Coordinates WWC, CCSP, and CRCCP requirements, patient flow, and recall. Completes all billing for grant programs
Manages patient recall lists. This may include calling patients and rescheduling them for appointments to ensure proper tests or imaging have been performed. This includes handling health maintenance reports for registry purposes and relaying health maintenance results to the patients
